James started life as a photographer in the early 90’s – a career that quickly involved video too. During an MA in interactive design at Middlesex University he set up and ran Squidsoup with Anthony Rowe. This set out to explore the boundaries of interactive media and did so successfully for 6 years.
Dot com bubbles put paid to Squidsoup as a commercial entity and James went to work as an art director for RMGConnect/JWT for 4 years. All the time art directing digital media, directing commercial films for them and continuing to create installation work with Squidsoup. After RMG he spent a short time at Imagination leading a team creating unique digital experiences for Ford motorshow stands.
James recently directed commercials for American Express, Europcar, bmi, and Evans Cycles. New projects include producing and directing a documentary ‘Nic’, about a cancer surviving marathon runner and his first feature film ‘Disco’.
James started Future Sun in 2006 and it is where he now brings his creative passion to bear on numerous films, websites, digital design and branding work.
